Last night a fi.shing v p al 'i.V of thirteen was returning front Tweed Head's. 11 a launch, when" the boat capsized threequarters of a mile from land.. Six of the occupants managed l to reach the shore in an exhausted condition, and the, body of the seventh, A. Buchanan, has drifted ashore. Six people are si ill missing, their names being A. Arnold, C. Gibson, G. Pigott, Freeney, ,T. Barrett, and Badhain. A tugboat was prevented from crossing the bar to search for those missiag, owing to the high sea running. Another vessel went out, but signalled late at night that her search had been unsuccessful. Thej! weather .is bitterly cold', and there is little hope that even if i-he missing men managed l to keep aflo'it they would survive the exposure.
