OVERSEAS CLUB.
Tho Committee of the Onffla.ru branch of the Overseas Club .met on Thursday night. Mr R. Milligau (President) presided. Tho Secretary presented tho balancesheet of the Empire Day concert, at which the total receipts were £l6 and after paying expenses there remained a- balance of £6 lis 6d to bo placed >o the club funds. A donation of £l. to the funds was received from Mr W. E. Searle, to whom a- vote of thanks was passed. ' It was decided to hold a. social on August 27, tho Club's birthday, and <i. committee to confer with the lady members was elected. It was resolved that: the branch make an effort to send to London clothing, •etc., at the end of the year, several letters having been received which shews without doubt that this work is much, appreciated by the very poor people in London. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr E. P. tee, M.P., a. member of the branch, asking him to represent the club at. the annual conference to bo held in Wellington on July 24th. Accounts amounting to £lO 0s 2d were passed for payment, and the usual vote to the chair closed the meeting.
