AUCKLAND ENVELOPED IN FOG.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, July 10. \ Since an early horn- this morning a 3ae,ivv fog has enveloped tlie liorbnr and gulf.' Old captains assert that never before in their experience has fog lasted so long. . ■ Coastal shipping is delayed, and the sailings of several steamers have been postponed. Tlie ferry steamer Condor went ashore near St. Helier's Bay this morning, but floated off with the rising tide to-night. The small steamer Minerva is reported ashore in the gulf, but the .report is not confirmed. _ The barque John Craig, from Newcastle. has evidently anchored in the gulf- " . ~ Ferry captains are having an anxious time, but are guided by sirens and foghorns. which at present are going continually at various points.
