NELSON FRUIT IN AMERICA.

Further information lias come to hand regaining the shipment of Nelson peaches and pears which, was 'made to San Francisco. The peaches, it will be remembered, were condemned at San Francisco owing to evidence of a. grub in some of the specimens. It was then decided to ■carry the peaches on to Vaucouver, and ever since word has been awaited as to what ultimately happened to the consignment. Now it is learned that the peaches were condemned at Vancouver for the : same reason as at San Faancisco, and, except that, we are not yet told what' finally became of them, the history of the trial shipment has closed. Presumably they were dumped overboard. In regard to the pears, the advice from San Francisco is that one-thud of the shipment lias been sold, this being considered all the eating varieties. The balance is described as hard, green cooking pears, which the agents were unable to dispose of at that time of the year. The pears in the shipment were declared to have been picked too ripe, ac they all turned black after being cut of the cool store for twenty-four hours. The pears recommended for shipment are Oeurre Die 1 .. Bern-re Kose. Marie Louise, Louise, Bon Jersey, and Fertility.
