THE SMART SET. The public of New' Zealand are again to be entertained by .that well and favorably known organisation of Costume Comedy artists, known as the Smart Set. Theatregoers in the Dominion will look back with pleasure to the last visit, some months ago of this Company, which is revisiting these shores this time under the management of Mi- Edward Bransoombe, and which commences a season of two night* at the Opera House commencing on Monday next. As record business is anticipated, prudent pa.trons will do well to linok their seats in advance at the Dresden. Since their last visit here, the Smart Set have toured with phenomenal success in Australia and Tasmania, and have just completed a highly satisfactory season at Hobart. the press reports of which havo been extremely favorable. A special feature of this combination is the musical sketches, into which are introduced clever witticisms and smart patter, which is however, entirely free from vulgarity. There are no passengers in this combination each member of which is an artist of considerable merit, who has lieen" thoroughly proved in competition with the World's best. Included, in the Smart- Set are Mr Walter George and Miss Georgie Martin, who will be well and favorahly remembered as having visited this district last season, when they presented, some items of extremely line comedy and excellent acting and vocalism. Several of Mr liranscombe's finest artists have been added to this combination, and the personnel now is really wonderfully strong. Those Wishing- to' spend an enjoyable evening with the finest artists tho World produces cannot do better than go and hear -the Smart Set. The prices are 3s. 2s. Is.

Haywa'rd's Management have been fortunate in their choice of subjects for to-night's change programme, there heiug sufficient variety and originality to suit all.: There are several distinctly pleasing subjects well calculated to provide much wholesale - enjoyment. The Keystone Company have been justly famous for "their laugbter.-provoking comedies, and the latest one to hand, "The Speed Kings," promises to cap previous successes. • Another tip-top screamer will be revealed in "Max and the Portmanteau," ini which Max Lindor will make a welcome reappearance. The star pictur is a. Vitagraph creation entitled "The Intrude V'—- pretty story full of iuterest and charm which are enhanced by lovely surroundings and excellent acting.
