.Hector Douglas Jlniloy, of Merriwa, New South Wales, seems to have made a hobby of getting hurt. He has ha-d au astonishing career iu regard to accidents, and certainly more than ono person.s's share of good fortune in escaping serious consequences. Wallace, tho New Zealand footballer, had an ankle, a. shoulder, his jaw, and several ribs broken in pursuit, of Hugby glory, but for variety and excitement in the collection of a record of mishaps, Bailey, of Merriwa, easily takes the honors. ■ Bailey recently had both thighs broken through a racing pony ho was riding colliding with a tree. When only -four.years old be got hold of a. gun, .and managed to pull both triggers, and wa.s knocked out. Luckily the barrel was pointed away from him, and, beyond receiving .a few -bruises, he was not hurt. His next experience was whilst shooting. Ho accidentally shot himself, tho bullet passing through one of his feet. Later he met with, another experience whereby ho narrowly escaped being killed. He was driving his father's team to Merriwa, when he was shot in tho head, tho gullet passing through his hat and scalp, striking the skull and passing out through the nealj) at tho top of his head, and lodging in his hair. Though stunned and bleeding, lie was able to continue his journey. An examination showed that the. wheel of the wagon passed over a cartridge, which exploded, the bullet taking an upward course. Bailey still preserves the bullet. Whilst playing football last year he sustained an injury to the knee, and an a result was an inmate of the Merriwa Hospital for a considerable time. Ho had iusfc regained his old form when ho met with another accident. While Bailey is to he sympathised with, a good many will envy him .his luck
