OTAGO LAND BOARD.
. : At the monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board the following business of local interest was transacted: — Ranger Atkinson- forwarded a report upon the application of Mr Charles Harper, secretary of Hall Committee, to purchase section 1, block 11, town of Waitaki. being part of Steward Settlement.—Recommended for Minister's approval at £3 for quarter-acre. The following application was dealt with:—L.i.D. 794s section 14, Tokarahi Estate, Thos. G. PaTilin to Thos. Duffy. —Recommended for Minister's approval. Consideration of proposal from the secretary, Otago Education Board, with respect to'that body's acquiring for aschool site, an area-of 1 acre of allotment 11a, Elderslie No. 2 Settlement, held under i\l.s. 1755, by D. O'Connor. —Approved. . Ranger Atkinson forwarded a report oh an area in Tyne street, Oamaru. held under lease by the New Zealand Loan and. Mercantile Agency Company. The. present. lerfse expiring in November, the lessees requested that a fur-ther-two O'ears' occupation of the said area be granted.—Resolved to offer the present tenant a license for two years at present rental. The -Board considered application from Mrs Mary Simpson to purchase section 20, .block J, Maerowhenua district, held by her under pastoral lease 254.—Purchase recommended excluding the 20 . acres, approximately, objected to. by the Warden, and this area to be let on year-to-year lease at 20s per annum.,
[ Application for permission to transfer part sections, e.r. lease. 7 and. 18, block Y, Kaurco district, George TJobert Fiddes to Messrs Arthur Thomas Barn- and Tertius Martin Munro. — Approved. Consideration of letter from the clerk of the Waitaki County Council and also one from a few settlers of Elderslie No. 2 Settlement, with respect to metalling of road giving access to sections in. the said settlement.—Left iu hands of Commissioner to recommend; sum of £4OO being pat on Estimates. The clerk of the Waitaki County Council forwarded statement of respective "thirds" and "fourths" for period February 1 to April 30. —Approved.
