THE LIBERAL CAMPAIGN.
MR. RUSSELL AT MILTON. (Per Press Association.) - Milton, June. 1. Mr G. W. Russell addressed a large meeting at- Milton. The Mayor (Mr C. King) presided. - Mr Russell received a good hearing. Regarding naval defence, lie depredated the toy navy, and advocated dependence on the British Navv, with three or four submarines, torpedo destroyers, etc., and a fleet.of airships to hold off the enemy till help arrived. He dealt at great- length with finance, and scathingly criticised the Government's finances and other matters. He dealt with the criticisms of the Opposition b" the Government Ministers and with the strike. A vote of thanks to the speiaker and confidence, in the party he -represented was carried.
