Licut.-General Sir .James Bovan Edwards presiding. llie Chairman recalled the fact that he had iiisoected the New Zealand Forces in 1889; and there way no finer material for soldiers'in ■■■the-world. . Mr Myers, 'in the course of his speech, dealt with finance and defence. He justified the New Zealand loans oil the ground tha-b they were devoted to reproductive works. He declared: that Australia, 'Canada, and New Zealand should unite to relieve Britain of tile defence of the Pacific. . . :
