ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association.) Ghristehurch, December 21. An inquest was held to-day to inquire into the deatli of Richard Kemp, who died yesterday afternoon under circumstances that 'suggested .poisoning. Dr A. C. Sanstein, who had made a post mortem- ''examination of the b6dy, .said that the abdomen, showed nothing abnormal except a,moderate enlarge-, ment of the liver. The stomach was absolutely empty aiiv. showed no signs of congestion nor irritation. A verdict was returned that death was due: to cardiac syncope. An inquiry was held to-day to inquire inta, tlie death of James Ford, a marlied man living at St. Albans, who was ■ found dead near Yaldhurst last night. Constable Worsley stated that deceased's motor cycle had been found near water race with its head broken. The indications went to show that deceased had ridden across the .water raC<! at a smart pace, the resulting jolt liav-_ ing broken the machine at the spot, where'there had been a flaw. Ford was lying face downwards- when found. Deceased left- Christclmrch for "Whitecliffs at 4.30 p.m., and* his body was found at 5.15 p.nv. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
