WEDDING AT TOKARAHI.
(From a Correspondent.). . A large lromber of friends and! guests of Mr and Mrs Wilson (Maere-\v!h»iiua) assembled 'at the Tokarahi Hall on Wednesday, May 28t'h, to witness the marriage of .their daughter May to Mr W. Young (Railway Department, Palmerston South). The day, though oyericaist and windy in .the morning, turned, out -xa ideal one for tiho' occasion. The' officiiatiiiiig clergyman wais tlio Rev'. Mr Wright (Oainaru). The bridle, who was given away by 'h'elr fa|ther, looked charming in a neat costume of cream and' black 'hat., and was attended by .her aisteir (Miss Maggie Wilson) as ibridesmiaiitJ, who was ia(lisio aittiredi in sii cream .dress with black hat, and, 1 Mr A. V. Young laatedl 'as groomsiman. After the usual signing of the register, all're.paired to the breakfast tables', where a suimptuous breakfast was very tastefully'laid out, and! the 'good things that the "tables held were done ample, justice to.
The Rev. Mr Wright presided, and with liiis usual igoodl hliwnor proposed J the health of tho "bride and bridegroom, at the same time eulogising tho good, qualities of the pairemfs of tho .bride «Md bridegroom. Ho also congratulated Mr Young on his selection of a bride, and concluded -hy. wishing both long life ankl prospeiit'y. Tlie brid»- . groom replied' on.behalf of 'his wife si ml himself, and, declared! that he was perfectly sure that he hind' made a very good choice. The health of the bridesmaid was proposed by Mr M'Graidlie;, .a-ndl Mr H. V. Yotwig respoiKled. at some length on hehaM of the bridle's sister. Mr James Hore proposed, the. health of tihle .pa.iients of the bride a.n<i bniidiegfoom, at tho saimo time mentioning the fact that he had known Mr Wilson for in tionsiiderable numlx>r. of years and hadl alwa.jis found 'him of sterling quality. Mr Hore afeo said that although lho was .not personally acquainted with. Mir Young (-faither of tlie hridleifgroom) ho liad! heard- on very good .authority tliiaft- ho was a fafllier of "tfbich any son miglit justly he proud. T-hw tbnst Off the of the.br.ide and bridiogroom was responded to by Mr W. Wilson -and Mr Jas. Young,, fathers of the bride and. bridegroom respectively. Mr Hore also proposed .thetoast of -tlie Cliiairin.an, wliich was very ably -respondledl to by the Rev. Mr Wright. Several other toasts were proposed and' honored'. The wedding presents were numorons, very useful, and varied.
At about three o'clock p.m. tlve happy couple left Toikaralii eu route to fields Unknown, amongst a shower of race, confetti, oM 1 boots, and. this good wishes of their many friends and acquaintances.
