WAIMATE HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting was held yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Present: Messrs A. Garland (chair), W. Miller, T. L. Hart, E. D. Sanders, G. Lyall, and E. J. Atwiil. The Chairman's statement stated that visits to tho hospital since last meeting disclosed the fact that everything was going on satisfactorily. The accounts to be presented for payment amounted to £B4 6s lOd, thus leaving a credit balance of £97, which, with the £250 still tto receive from the Hospital Board, on account of maintenance demand, should just see us through the financial year. The term of the present Visiting Committee having expired it will be necessary to make.arrangements at this meeting. Messrs Hart and Atwiil were appointed a Visiting Committee. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr AtwiLf-, that the amount of £2 be voted to the matron for the purpose of purchasing extra Christmas cheer for the patients. The surgeon's report gave the number of patients at date of last meeting as 11, admitted during the month 12, discharged cured 8, relieved 1, remaining under treatment 14.
the matron reported that Nurses Wilkes and Trott had' completed their in invalid cookery with credit. Miss Fa;hey had completed her three months' trial, .and the Committee was recommended to place her on the nursing staff. —Adopted. Mr H. Franklin offered to sell the Committee an invalid chair.—To be informed that the Committee regretted it had no funds available for the purpose.
