A big meeting of telegraphists decided to' work 'under: the inew schedule for one'/week, -pending representations to Mr Fisher with a view-of liaving the matters. in dispute submitted to arbitration at the earliest possible moment. Received December 17, at 9.25 a.m. Sydney, December 17. The Council of the Post and! Telegraph is seeking Mr--Fisher's intervention writh-a view to '.a' compulsory conference and a return to the old schedule. Though largely favoring a strike, the telegraphists liavo decided not to" act precipitately. -They will give the new schedule'.a- fair trial before resorting to extreme steps.
