PELORUS JACK LOST.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, October 29. Owing to reports of the disappearance of PeJorus Jack inquiries made of masters of steamers trading to Nelson sliow that this celebrated fish has TOS been seen for sis -to eight months, lhe absence from his usual haunts is so much more prolonged than usual that fears axe expressed that Jackjbas fallen a rictim to some whaling party. Captain Watson, of the Pateena, does not think Pelorus Jack has been killed. The last timehe saw him was oft JpcKson Heads, and he is of opinion that tnefish has merely changed his range and' gone out into the Straits.
