Tin- Chinese Consul-General, in an address :it "Wesley Church, describing the national developments, in China, wiid she would take her place in the world's affairs. She wanted to 'be treated as a free .nation. China was forced to open her. gates to other nations,' and slio therefore < protested against the exclusion of Chinese. Tt was going to bo a "-great question with ■Australians, and they would d»»well to consider it. Received June. 11, 10-30 a.m. Melbourne, June 11 Mr Thomas, replying to the Chinese Consul, said ho was prepared to raise no objection to young Chinese, fully accredited coining to Australia to stud,at the hiiih schools and university, but the practice of sending younger children whoso parents resided here, to attend school Had grown, so that ha decided to stop it.
