THE LOAN.
(Per Press -Association.) ' ' Wellington, June 11. Reference to the loan of £4,500,000 which Uio New Zealand Government Is raising was made by the Premiet in an interview with a Post representative to-day. The loan, lie, said, was principally for repaying old loans maturing and advances already received in ant£ cipution of receiving authorised loans and for payment, of Dreadnought. Full dotads would bo given to Parliament at the earliest opportunity, "i have no observation to make- in regard to tho loan," added Mr Mackenzie, "beyond this ; that tho money is requirad and it is being raised on tho best terms that we can raise it on. Of courso no matter what is done, faults will bo found; indeed fault-finding has be-ir raised, to .such a state in this country that it may at times interfere with tiie best being done."
