AUCKLAND'S REQUIREMENTS.

(Per Press Association.) -■ Thames, May 10. The, Hon. J. Colvin received several deputations to-day. The principal matters urged were the opening up of the Hauraki pastoral lea.se lands, estimated to be uearly a-quarter of a million acres, for settlement. These lands are situated on the Hauraki goldflelds, and are quite distinct from the Hauraki Plains lands. The Minister was also urged to have a living survey made of the Kopu-Pokeno railway, subsidise the construction of a ferry over the Thames river and a bridge over the Piako. Mr Colvin will bring the matters before the Cabinet. He has left for Paeroa.
