LATE HON. J. M'COWAN.

(Peii Press Association.) Thames, May 9. The funeral of the late Hon. J. M'Gowan this afternoon was attended by one of the largest representative gatherings ever seen at the Thames. Mr Colvin, Minister of Mines, represented the Cabinet, the Hon. T. Thompson the Legislative Council, Mr C. Matthews, Under-Secretary for Justice, and M.P.'s and representatives of local bodies from far and near, the local Masonic Lodge, and' a large gathering -of citizens attended the service, first conducted in the church, and followed by a Masonic ceremonial at the grave.
