CATLINS RAILWAY.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, May 9. The Prime Minister this morning received a deputation from the Catlins Railway League. They asked that ;"< sufficient sum be placed on the Estimates to complete the. line within a year.' ■ * Mr Mackenzie said he did not think it possible in view of the opinion expressed by the country against the borrowing that had taken place. Rightly or wrongly the people were against borrowing, and if lessened' borrowing occurred in future this line'could only get its share- rno rata. He would do his utmost to continue the policy of progress with regard to the Catlins line, for it was one of the great .feeders of Dunedin.
