WAIMATE RAM FAIR.
The annual Ram Fair, under the auspices of the Waimate A. and P. Association, proved one of the most successful fairs held by,the Association.. The total number of entries was 330. but one lot missed the train and did not get to Waimate in time, leaving the total yarding about 290. Out of this number, there were fully 200 Border Leicester ranis, the whole of which found purchasers at prices ranging from 3-J guineas, the average being about 4-J guineas. There was not such a great demand for English Leicesters, their prices ranging from 2£ to 4£ at which several lots were solclT but a few were passed, not having reached the reserve. The day was beautifully fine, a perfect summer day, and 1 there was a good keen crowd of buyers present, who were evidently out after sheep.
