(Feb Press Association.) Pjuris, December 25. The Government proposed to the Chamber a subsidy of £20,000,000, spread over 25 years, to the Messageries Maritimes Company and the Societe d'Etudes de Navigation, for mail and other services in the Far East, Australia, East Africa, Brazil, and the River Plate, the bulk to be devoted to the construction of nineteen knot steamers, convertible into auxiliary cruisers.
