LANGFORD v. M'VEA

By Electbio Telegraph—Copyright.]

(Pee Press Association.)

Received December. 26, -at 1.20 p.m. Sydney, December 26. M'Vea. beat Langford on points after twenty rounds. ' - There was an enormous crowd at the boxing contest. M'Vea- led easily in the first ten rounds, scoring apparently as he liked with left hooks to the face. Langford replied ■ with straight lefts- to the jaw and right swings to-the body. M'Vea t however, generally blocked them. In the eleventh session M'Vea .swined to tire, then to the seventeenth Langford took the lead, fighting savagely. M'Vea's better boxing stood to'him, however, an.d in the last two rounds he again brought his heavy left into play. Both men were going strongly at the finish, though Langford's right eye was completely closed. The verdict was unpopular with *7 a large section of the crowd. |
