AMUSEMENTS.
TIAYWARDS' PICTURES. it is seldom that- such a musical treat as was given at the Picture Palace last evening is connected with a moving picture show. Signor Martinengo is undoubtedly a master of the 'cello, and he possesses a resonant baritone voice.' His musical scena, "The Unemployed Musician." which introduces songs and manv beautifnl 'cello solos, including "The Broken Melody," was undoubtedly the best item of the evening. He was recalled and Tendered "Home, Sweet Home" in a. finished manner. Signor Martinengo is supported by a programme of very fine pictures, which includes an excellent drama entitled "Man to Man," a storv of the Wild West. "UNIVERSAL PICTURES.' The Opera House was again filled in all parts last evening, and an excellent programme of moving pictures was screened. The chief attraction .was the film describing the Battle of Trafalgar, which gave a realistic representation of the great naval encounter. "Realm of Rocks" proved a most interesting scenic, and many instructive views were contained in a beautifully colored film entitled "Cultivation of Tapioca." The Pathe Gazette was an extremely interesting number. "Sunshine and Shadow." a grand Vitigraph drama, was well received, '■ and '"Swords and Hearts." 3 story of the American Civil War, was also a good subject. The comedies were very amusing, and caused a good deal of laughter. The Pathc Orchestra supplied suitable music during the evening.
