Received December 24, at 5.5 p.m. Lisbon, December 23. The mutineers at Braga. resented the discipline.: They entrenched' the barracks, but were eventually overawed "and sent- to Oporto. The Minister of War, in the Chamber, suggested: that the insubordination was "the result of the anti-Republican -.atmosphere in the district. He intended to repeal the lenient clauses 'ii the code, and declared that an undisciplined army was merely a. mob, and. there was great danger in its use.
