The'shipping firms are arguing tuat the dockers' strike is now national, and have withdrawn the proposed terms for a compromise. The dockers replied that the decision would possibly lead to an international strike. Sir G. R. Askwith will mediate r-i the trouble. Received December 25, at 5.5 p.m. London. December 24. The Dundee strike has been settled. The carters' minimum is advanced by 2s weekly, and the dockers' by Id an hour.
