(Per Press Association.) Wellington, December 22. In the Two Mile Handicap at tho evening sports meeting, to-night, J!/. JNHill (Auckland) won from scratch in 9min 36 2-osec, beating the New Zealand record by 5 4-osec. R. Opie won his heat of the 100 Yards event against a light wind in 10 2-ssec but did not start in the final. In the Two Mile Walking event Ellis (Tasmania) beat Kerr (New Zealand) by about ten vards. The walking of all the comnetitor.s was not above question. Ine Australian visiting athletes were given :, civic reception this evening by tne Mayor.
