For the sheep-shearing contest, with Lester machines, for the championship of Australia and a £IOO state, ten sheep each, there were six contestants from the various States, including J. Bieman (New Zealand). The latter was beaten in his heat by Ross (Victoria), who cut out two and a-half sheep ahead. In the final between F. Bieman (South Australia) and Ross the former finished in 23min ol 1-osec, and Ross in 24mi1l 12sec.
