AUCKLAND TRAINING NOTES. (Pee Press Association'.) Auckland, December 23. The weather is fine and the course in good order for the final gallops at Ellerslie this morning. All the work was done outside the course proper. ran seven furlongs in lmin 29 l-ssec, Counterfeit (Emmerson) beat .Masterpiece' (F. G. Jones) over a mile and: a quarter in 2min 16 l-ssec, Masterpiece taking 2min 17 l-ssec. _ Waimangu and Conquest pleased their supporters better. Santa Rosa (C. Brown) went over a mile and a-quarter in 2min 17 2-ssec. Watcbchain beat Tnrbine over six furlongs in lmin 21 3-sscc, Outward doing the same distance in lmin 21 l-ssec. Culprit and Los Angelas, the latter being very scratchy, did threequarter-pace work. Soultoria, going stronger: than Maxwell, ran once round in 2min 3sec. Winning Way finished in front of Scottish Star and ran six furlongs in lmin 21 3-ssec, both finishing tired. Ermengarde, with the assistance of Peirene for the last four furlongs, covered the same distance in lmin 18 3-ssec, putting up a good gallop. Avarice alone ran seven furlongs in lmin 33 4-ssec; Kakania, not doing his best, got over six furlongs in lmin 21sec. Dearest at best weights beat Gipsy Belle over five fnrlongs in lmin Bsec. Hoskyne was a length in front of Monorail and - Iridescence, with Lamacost last, over six furlongs in lmin' 22 1-osec, Monorail losing a lot of ground at the start. Byron with the assistance of Lady Georgia for the first four-furlongs ran six furlongs in lmin 20 3-ssec. Miss Mischief alone covered the mile and a-quarter in 2min 20 1-osec. Master Wairiki beat Electrakoff over six furlongs in lmin 20sec. St. Petersburg and St. Felix together ran five furlongs in lmin Usee. General Latour easdy beat Nyland over a mile in lmin 49 4-ssec. Jack Delaval did four fnrlongs .in 52 4-ssec. Beldane was five lengths in front of Centenary over four fnrlongs in 52sec. Equitas ran six furlongs in "lmin 21sec. Midnight Sun (Emmerson). Coromandel (Stratford), Miscount (Wilson), Goldfinder (Buchanan), Mendip, and Conquest finished in that order at the end of a mile and a-quarter, Midnight Sun beating Coromandel by a length in 2min 16 3-osec, Miscount "taking 2min 18sec, Goldfinder ■and Mendip being at intervals of three lengths. • Dawn and Sir Artegal were together and Sandstream three lengths away after seven furlongs in lmin 32 4-ssec. Bobrikoff Tan a couple of rounds at half and three-quarter pace, pulling np sound. Hawick was schooled over hurdles, jumping well. While being schooled Matarere fell, bis rider (ffickton) receiving a bad bruising. Equitas was withdrawn from the Trial Handicap at 9 o'clock to-day.
