(Per Press Association.) "Wellington. December 22. Weather summary and forecast: — The barometer rose during the night, bat'has made little movement to-day. Moderate westerly winds have prevailed in and northward of Cook Strait and easterly winds elsewhere. Rain has fallen on the West Coast and in other parts, but warm and hazy weather prevailed. The present indications are f»r mild, hazy and humid conditions, with variable winds generally, but increasing cloudiness and a falling barometer, with freshening northerly winds, will probably bring rain shortly- in the northern districts. The outlook in the south is also for unsettled and misty weather, easterly breezes backing to south-east, and "the barometer rising unsteadily after a short time. Timaru, December 22. The weather cleared up to-day. The rainfall for the month so far at Timaru has been 3.39 inches.
