Archdeacon Harper, who shortly leaves the Dominion to reside in Ensland, was entertained at a farewell function.at Bishopscourt (Christchiirch) yesterday. Bishop Julius, in ' presenting- Archdeacon Harper with a small purse of money from his friends outside Tiniaru, referred in feeling and appropriate terms to Archdeacon Harper's long services to the Church, in New Zealand and to the universal affection and esteem in wlu'ch he is held.: Archdeacon Harper suitably acknowledged the compliments." Mr F. Mulvihill has heen advised! that ho lias passed the. first section of the solicitor's examination, held in November.
