STORM ON THE COAST.
Wellington, September 19. At 11.30 to-night the Mokoia, which left- at 8 p.m. for the South, had only rot- about eight miles from the heads. The Indralema and Tarawera, which left S'apier on Monday afternoon for Wellington, have not put in an appearance. Wellington, September 20. The Kapiti, which left Lyttelton at noon yesterday, arrived here at 8.30 this coming, after a rough passage. As she was coming into the heads an imnense sea came over the poop, sweeper the lifeboat and everything movable on deck overboards and injuring two of the crew, P. Brient, A.8., and E. jlilson, lamp trimmer, who were thrown against a winch. The vesseF broached to. but was quickly got on her course nam. "The Tarawera made a very long trip from Napier. She left there for Welliiton at 5 p.m. on Monday, and only reached here shortly before 9 this morniiz plugging against a heavy southerly jile the greater part of the time. The forecastle was flooded and- some deck mgo was damaged.
CROSSING THE BAR. Wanganui, September 20The steamer Regulas had a rough ice crossing the bar inwards this morniz. She got broadside on, bat the aptain managed to keep her in the tunnel, and she was blown sideways ,'3to the river. The barquentine Carla is still holding a her anchors, though the gale is undated and a tremendous sea is running.
