NATIONAL INSURANCE.

Mr I,lovd-George attended a special meeting of the" British Medical Association, at. which doctors demanded to he entirely freed from friendly societies. Mr Llovd-Georgc was favorable, suggesting that they bo under a local committee ; but disagreed with the proposal that all persons earning more than forty shillings weekly should be excluded from the Bill. Mr Llovd-George agreed that, an insured !>;ifieti( should be free iu his choice of doctors, subject to .safeguards against the choice of a doctor encouraging malingering. Mr Balfour, in the House of Commons. offered facilities to assist tile Government in amending and carrying the Insurance Bill.
