THE KING'S APPROVAL. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association.) Received May 4, at 8.10 a.m. London, May 3. Tho King, writing to the Lord Mayor, said that ho was gratified that the Guildhall resolutions were unanimous in view of the supreme and far-reaching importance of the arbitration question, and that the assemblage was representative of the various religious, political, and social sections.
Washington, May 3. Messrs Taft and Knox discussed the Anglo-American draft treaty. At a Cabinet meeting Mr Taft stated that he could not see the force of the British press criticism or "the necessity of consulting the Senate before arbitrating. He said no agreement had Been reached as to the constitution of the Arbitration Court, and the treaty would not be ready for several weeks.
