BLACKBALL MINE TROUBLE.
(Per Press Association.) Greymouth, March 17. A critical situation has been reached in regard to the trouble at Blackball. To-day tlio union at a meeting unanimously decided to adhere-to. its de- ' maud that the company shall do the trucking, and appointed a deputation to interview the manager. To-morrow: a conference will take place at 9 a.m., but • , it is known that the men Will reject the compromise suggested by the manager, ■ whose proposal regarding truckmg and / pillar work they do not seem inclined to consider. The outcome of the conference is awaited with a great deal of concern, as the Federation is a party to the negotiations, and in the event of failure far-reacliing developments are feared. ,
