EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS.
t . : : (Peb Press Association.) Christchurch, February 26. , A shock of earthquake was felt at ;au early hour this morning. There :was' more of a swinging motion than .the ;iisual jerk, but the "shock was not severe-enough to cause any damage. Palmerston North, February 26. The most severe earthquake experienced her.e for some years was felt at 3.45 o'clock this morning. There were two shocks, the first of! five seconds and the second of eight seconds in duration. The shake was travelling from South-west to north-east.. No damage was done, though the shake considerably alarmed nervous people.
