(From Our Own Corrrspondent.) Wo have had a very beneficial downpour of rain here. On Thursday it was pouring all dav, and showery on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday nightthere was another heavy downpour, and it looks very much like more to-day.. (Monday). The-crops have now a faimoro promising appearance, and winter feed is coming away well. The schoot-sconecet is. to. .be .held on DecentbgF 2£lt)i;'-andi favored. with -fine weather, there is «ood hope of it being. a" very successful, function. >.-The picnic; will be held at Waihaoninga -by ---.the^'kind-v.permission; .of- Mr Arm«trong. Shearing is ?in full' swing, but it. will be some time before, all haver cut out. :We "are to have a visit from a large nnmber. of church studentfi at, Waiiiao Downs, on the 22nd, and «t hope thej have a--very ejijcnable da> . I am sure the ladies here will do all they can to give them a good time.
