QUARTZ MINING.

As a result of the development of work at Mokihinui there is likely to be a big revival in quartz mining in that district. Some little time ago the men working in what is known as the Eed .Queen district located a reef twenty feet wide. They have since gone on with the development work' and have uncovered 40ft of the reef, which appears to be of a permanent character. Careful assays made at the Westport School of .Alines of the specimen stone brought rowu gave the landsome return of 31oz to the ton.
