NEW SOUTH WALES v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association.) Received December 2, at 9.15 p.m. I Sydney, December 2. The match between New South Wales and South Australia commenced in fine weather and on a good wicket. South Australia, in their first innings, scored 342 —Dolling (24), Clem Hill (89), Gehrs (120), Chamberlain (35), and Mayiie (22) being the chief, scorers. Scott captured four wickets for 48. runs, , and Emery 3 for 100. New South Wales has no wickets down for 44 —Trumper (not out) 29 and Bardsley 13. Clem Hill showed much of his old form, and Gehrs was excellent all round, the two making'a clianceless partnership which put oil 160 in 94 minutes.

SOUTH AFRICA v. AN AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN. - [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per. Press Association.) Received December 2, at 9 p.m; Brisbane, December 2. The wicket' was soft at the-start of the match Africa v. an Australian Eleven, the result of a storm over-night. The attendance: w;:is .2000. Australia sent Africa to the wickets, and soon had .three wickets down for 10. Nourse and Faulkner stopped, together .and got the total to 76 before they were separated. The bowling was good, but the fielding was poor, six catches being dropped before the tea adjournment. Llewellyn, Sherwell, and Sinclair had a splendid effect on .the innings, each batsman scoring rapidly. The total innings occupied four hours nine minutes.

Australia started at five minutes to time, and the first pair were together when the stumps were drawn. The following are detailed scores:—
