He lead a statement made by Mr Evans, who had been in Millei's etnph^ In the couise of the statement Mi Evans stated that it was with the gieatest difhcult\ that he could obtain fiom his employ ei the necessary mtor mation to enable him to make tip the books. He had nevei been given any inf oi mation concerning Millei's dealings with various piopeities, and there was no record of these transactions For the last three j ears he knew Miller had been bird pushed foi money, and a lot of bis (Mr Evans') time had been taken up in obtaining temporary loans for him by "the exchange of cheques, etc He (Mr Evans) nevei had anything to do w itb. -tile various bill transactions given to or b> Miller. He knew bills were floating about, but no paiticulars weie furnished to him. ■ In reply to a question the Assignee said he could not give particulars of the assets at present There were boot debts due to bankrupt. - Mr Moore said, he represented creditors who lield promissory notes from, Miller. It- appeared to him that Miller got rid of-all the secunties he could befoie lie' went awaj, and that the assets must small.- < ' -The Assignee said some little time befofe the- bankruptcy a balance-sheet 'showed a surplus of £BOOO. .He would fhke to see that balance now.
