The dairy farmers j are-- all crying out at the shortage of grass",'and'are experiencing the worst season for years. The t\ heat and oat crops are looking wonderfully well. On Wednesday last the monthly meet- ! ina of the Nukuroa Band of Hope, was | held in the Hannaton Schoolroom, when i notwithstanding the rain a good number ;: of people put in an appearance andliad j' an enjoyable evening. Mr C. T. Kear- ; ton presided and the following programme was gone through, all the per- : formers acquitting themselves well:— Pianoforte duet, Miss and Master Blight; recitation, Miss Stella Shrimpton ; song, Mr. Peek; song, Master Blight; song, Mr Shrimpton; recitation, Master Blight; song, Mrs Shrimpton: : song, Mr Dohrinan; recitation, Rev.
