OTAGO LAND BOARD.
The following business of local interest was transacted at this week's meeting of the Land Board: — A letter was received from Mrs Mary Evans, ,who had been called upon to show cause why lior occupation lease over sections 27' and 29, block X., Maruwhenua district, should not be forfeited for non-compliance with the residence condition.—To be given one 'month in which to find a suitable transferee, "or to .take up residence on the section. - John Matheson, lessee of sections 48 and 49, Stcward'Settlement, applied for permission to sub-lease his holding-for threp granted to sub-lease to an approved sub-lessee. The board was - requested to decide as to how Run 6 of 23, Kurow district, at present held under .temporary license bv D. Matheson, should be dealt with at the end of the license.—To he offered as a small grazing run. Rauger to make a valuation of the improvements. \Y. H. Neill, lessee of section 10a, Otekaike Settlement, wrote asking that he be allowed to shift the windmill to the corner of section 3a, and that he bo allowed to take a supply of water for domestic purposes and stock from the creek. —Referred to ranger for report. A M'Pliedran wrote on behalf of the Airedale settlers protesting against money levied on Airedale Settlement for roads' being spent on "Devil's Bridge" road. —To be informed that the board considers that the amount of money expended on Devil's Creek road has been properly spent in the interests of Airedale settlers. Applications to transfer were dealt with as:under:—L.i.p. 4945, Wm. Dolan to Redmond and John Limvood, section 4a, Maerewhenua Estate, and l.i.p. 11455, Wm. Dolan to Redmond and John Liriwcod, sections 3a and 24a, Maerewhenua Estate.—Transfers approved, subject to John Limvood applving to transfer section 13, block VI., Kurow, to a suitable transferee before October 31 next. L.ip. 3945, Alexander Wilson to John Duncan, sections 38, 29, Maerewhenua Estate. —Approved, subject to outbuildings being put in ro- , pair within one month. The following application was declined: —0.1. 63, Alary Avails to Robert Daster, section 27 and 29, block X.; . Maruvenua" district.
