OAMARU GUN CLUB.
The Oamaru Gun Club, a body which for some time has been in a strictly passive state, has 'lately been resus-' citated. The other week a number of old members with some new hands visited Mrs- George Harvey's at Mahono and spent a very pleasant day with good entertainment and good sport. The stake fired for was divided by Messrs George Borrie and George Harvey (Weston). Last Thursday another equally pleasant day was spent, when the Club members were the guests of Mr Joseph Mitchell. The entertainment on this occasion also contributing largely to the pleasure of the day. An eight-bird match resulted as follows:—, •' R. T. Oats, 24yds .:. .... 7 , James Mitchell, 24yds ... 7P. Bruce. 28yds ..'. ... .4' Another match won by Jos. Mitchell ■ closed an exceedingly pleasant" after-'; noon. It is proposed to call a meeting of the club at an early date, when arrangements will probably be made for "holding a series of matches during the sea- , son. The next match will probably bo held at Kakanui.
