Berlin, September 26. The bank rate is 5 per cent. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, September 27. The following is the High Commissioner's market cablegram. Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot, 24th September. Wheat —New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex granarv, per quarter of 4961b5, 355; short-berried, 345. The market is very quiet, and nothing is doing. The oats market is flat,' with scarcely any demand. New Zealand short sparrowbills, ex granarv, per quarter or 3841b5, 18s 6d; New Zealand oats, Danish, per quarter of 4201b5, 16s 9d. Beans are in fair demand for better grades: New Zealand f.a.q. new crop, per 5041b5, 355. The peas market is quiet, but there is a good local demand for best quality New Zealand. peas (partridge), per 5041b5, at 455. SALE OF CLYDESDALE COLT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile -Agency Co., Ltd., report having sold, on account of Mr William Suthoiland, Duntroou, a very superior Clydesdale colt rising 3 years; sire, Baron Fyvie j(imp.), one of the champion sires of the Dominion ; dam, Shiela, by Briton, by British Monarch. This colt is a particularly well-grown youngster, showing any amount of size and quality and should develop into a real wellgrown horse. The purchaser is MiAndrew Stevenson, of Wallacotowii, and a high figure was paid for the colt.
