"ALADDIN."

To-morrow morning at half - past eight o'clock the plans will be opened at the Dresden for the lir.st and only performance iu Oamaru of "Aladdin, .]. C. Williamson's successful pantomime production, which is to be staged ai tlie Municipal Theatre on Saturday •.tight next. The number of enquiries which it is stated have been made in reference to the booking arrangements -,nline to a large demand for seats. In order to prevent any crushing at the bo:-; uliiee the management will have a naif of ushers in attendance from an earlv hoar, whose dutv it will be to see 'that the iirst arrivals shall hare precedence iu the- choice of seats over those coming later. One of the advantages in possessing ••Aladdin's" lamp, with its illimitable power of transport, is that different parts of the world may be visited in a few minutes. Thus from amongst the towering pyramids, toned in a lie!: rose light characteristic of Kgypt and its deserts, the whole company is transported in an instant to the heart of Australia. Hero happens the beautiful Australian bird ballot, the dancers representing black swans, native companions, emus, magpies, laimhing jackasses, parakeets, galahs. white cockatoos, and king parrots in all tiie glorious coloring of nature. Another great novelty in the pantomime is "The Living Flag of Australia." The L'irls iu this, dressed a.s boy scouts, form a vertical wail. shaped like a Hag, b\ ilambering up a frame work -so siiaped. At a given signal the Hag. that of Australia, is unexpectedly plunged front : -.!:iilight into night, and bursts into brilliant and variegated lights for which elfeet, it is stated, over I'iii!) globes are u.-.d. The greatest .scene of all for rieiis;,s of design and harmony is said to he the euiciuding gorgeous, yet refined chrysanthemum i'oto. with the marc!: of i he' irises, the sunflowers, cherry biossom. poppies, and chrysanthemums. As in previous pantomimes there is plenty of entertainment provided for children, principally amongst which are the excruciatingly funny scene between the demons and tiie donkey, the billikens ballot, the Japanese 'doll dance, and '•(•'uii at a Turkish Bath." The Company are at present enjoying the most successful season ever experienced by the J. C. Williamson management in Christchureh. The sale of tickets lias to be stopped each evening before halfpast seven o'clock.
