At a meeting of the Now Zealand Cricket Council" to-night the following statement of receipts and. expenditure in connection with the tour of the Australian team showed that the receipts were as follow':—Amounts of guarantees, £1100; proceeds of test matches — first'match (at Christchureh), gross takings £-341 2s, less ground charges and expenses £lO3 13s Bd, net takings £237 8s 4d; second test match (at Wellington), gate receipts £293 16s 6d, less City .Council's-share at. 5 per cent (£ll 13s' 9d), net gate receipts £279 2s 9d—enclosure and stand £26 13s 6d, afternoon tea £l3 Is 9d,. total net takings £3OB 18s; refunds by non-members of the Australian team for fares and carriage of luggage, £l4 10s 3d; total receipts, £1730 16s 7d. The expenditure was as follows: Amount guaranteed by New Zealand Cricket Council, £200; expenses of first test match, £l6O 13s od ; of second test match, £199 3s 4d ; .general expenses of the tour, £IO2O 16s lid; balance in the Bank of New Zealand, £l5O 2s lid.
