The Daily Telegraph states that the bank's obligations are three millions sterling. The Daily News .says the failure is largely attributed to improper speculation on American markets. Other banks were unable to extricate the concern, but were endeavoring to assist the. smaller creditors, especially depositors, mostly miners and other workers! The capital is £60,000 and the' deposits £441,000. The assets have not been ascertained.
