WAIMATE NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Waimate I-iospiotal Committee met on Wednesday ,at ;i p.m. Present: Messrs White (chairman'). Walker, Hutt, Richard.-;, Sanders, Atwill, and liart. The surgeon's report showed that during' the month 23 patients had received treatment, and there were at present in the hospital 1(5 patients. The JMatron tendered her resignation, and it was decided to advertise for applications for the position at a salary of £BO per annum. The Visiting Committee reported everything to be satisfactory, and accounts amounting to ,£'9S 2s 9d were passed for payment. The Waimate Horticultural Society met on Wednesday evening, j\lr Ilassall in the chair. The annual report and balancs-shcst were adopted. The credit balance at the end of the year was £3 Is 2d. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr Hassali (re-olrc'ted) : vice-presidents, Rot. M'K. Gibson, Dr Hayes, and Messrs Hargroavos, and Nieol ; secretary, Mr Hitcliens; auditor, Mr Torlesso. A committee of 14 members was appointed. The following dates were arranged:—Bulb Show, September 28 and 24 ; Rose Show, December 8; Summer Show, January 20. it was decided to hold the first two shows in St. Augustine's Schoolroom, and to make an all-round charge for admission of (id. The Summer Shew will be hold in the Drillshed. Mr W. Cameron, draper, of Waimate, met with a serious accident on Wednesday.
