THE SHEARERS' DISPUTE.
SETTLEMENT IN SIGHT. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch. July 26. When the Arbitration Court met tins morning Mr Pryor (for the employers stated that a conference had been hell in regard to the shearers' dispute this morning, and it had been virtually agreed to ask the permission of the Court to refer the matter to the threa Conciliation Commissioners, who woul:l hear evidence and make a recommendation to be embodied in an award bindin<r on both parties throughout the Dominion. There were several minor points still in dispute but he had ,0 hesitation in saying these would be overcome. He asked for an adjournment till next day. In answer to Judge Sim, Mr Pryor said he was very hopeful that the rates of pay would be referred to the Commissioners. The adjournment was needed to enable them to complete negotial°An" adjournment was granted till next day. The parties will confer again this a fternoon. _____
