(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 25. The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are: The barometer was lowest in the far north on Saturday afternoon, but rose steadily afterwards, with rain and cold southerly winds. The barometer has. however, fallen since then in the south, and very wintry weather has been experienced in the South Island. The present indication's are for a further rise, but slowly in the north, and the barometer has a falling tendency in the south. Moderate to strong southerly winds will probablv prevail northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and strong westerly winds elsewhere. Damp and cold weather is probable generally.
