BUILDING SOCIETIES' FUNCTIONS.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, July 25. Representative, members of building societies were seen by a Star reporter as to Sir Joseph Ward's proposals outlined in the Budget for extending the scheme of advances to workers. The replies were all emphatically in, agreement-on one point, viz., that building societies fully and fairly supply the demand, and that there is no need for the Government stepping in and becoming general landlord for the workers.
